I created this spook-tacular design for a redesign of Spirit Halloween. As a team we generated multiple directions for the initial client meeting. My direction was more about the darker ghoulish nature of Halloween. The outer elements are dark while the main content would sit on a ghostly white background that eventually terminates in a cemetery with the footer content buried in earth & hellfire.

While this direction was appealing to the more hardcore Halloween enthusiasts, the chosen direction was more versatile and appealing to the casual trick-or-treater.

Fun fact: The headstone in the graveyard belongs to “Sam Hain”, a pun on Samhain, the ancient Gaelic harvest festival who’s traditions eventually influenced what we know today as Halloween.
